Miller Calls Perverts Threats to Security

Washington should clean out sex perverts and after-hours bottle clubs as threats to Government security, a member of the House District Committee says.

Representative Miller, Republican, of Nebraska, told the Lions Club yesterday he wonders "how many secrets of the Government are spilled" because perverts and bottle clubs are "tolerated" here.

He added he plans to "needle" the commissioners and other public officials to get something done about them.

Earlier yesterday, the Nebraska Congressman, a physician, made public a letter in which he called on the commissioners for a campaign against the bottle clubs and homosexuals

Declaring there are 4,500 "known sex perverts" whose names are on the District police blotters, Dr. Miller charged that many of them still are employed in the Government and that there are restaurants where most of the [employees] are homosexuals.

Referring to the fatal shooting this week in a downtown after-hours club, the District Committee member declared the clubs "are a nucleus where many of these crimes are formulated."

Mr. Miller spoke at a luncheon in the Mayflower Hotel.
