Hearing of Second Man In Blackmail Case Put Off

A second man arrested in an alleged blackmail attempt yesterday was placed under $300 bond on charges of taking property without right.

Identified as John W. Robertson, jr., 21, of the 3300 block of Brothers place, S.E., his case was [continued] before Judge Milton J. Krenheim, jr., until May 26.

Another man, William G. Hines, jr., of the 300 block of Thirty-seventh place S.E., is under $600 bond on two charges of taking property. His case has also been set for May 25.

According to Detective Sergts. J. T. Bailey and G. L. Keyser, the two men met a sailor in Lafayette Park and afterward threatened to tell a story that he was homosexual.

The sailor told police he gave up nearly $250 in several payments before contacting them.
