Man Held for Jury In Robbery Trial

Municipal Court Judge George Neilson today ordered a man held for grand jury action after a visitor from New York testified the man threatened to denounce him as a homosexual.

Frank G. Whitfield, 24, of Chicago, was charged with robbery and vagrancy after the other man, 57, told police Whitfield started a conversation with him as he was walking up Fourteenth street to his hotel.

Whitfield invited him to sit down on a bench in McPherson Square near Fifteenth and K streets N.W. and tried to take him money after threatening him, the New York man said.

Judge Neilson set bond for Whitfield at $2,500.
