On Wednesday, December 14th, the Washington Post released an article claiming that the Texas AG, Ken Paxton, had sought to find records on transgender Texans. According to the Post, records sought included drivers licenses with sex/gender marker changes, even attempting to get around official channels to obtain them. Legal advocates have referred to this as “a gross violation of privacy”. Texas AG Paxton has already come under scrutiny for defending the seemingly egregious state practices that led to “abuse” investigations of families with transgender children.
