The Naval Station Newport Sex Scandal involved several Navy operators up to 1919 participating in queer sex acts attempting to entrap other operators and civilians. In 1920 national headlines began reporting on the events which were even tied to former President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his time as Assistant Secretary of Navy.
