Die Sexuelle Frage (1905)

Die Sexuelle Frage (1905) (English: The Sexual Question) by Auguste Forel cites Magnus Hirschfeld in several areas.

"Sexual Pathologie" (p. 291)

Quite interesting is the result of an inquiry by Hirschfeld on the relative number of homosexual, bisexual and heterosexual men in the population. Among 3Q16 men there were: 94.6oo with heterosexual feelings (normal), 3.9^0 with bisexual feelings, 1.50.0 with homosexual feelings. The latter are the real urnings.

For in-depth detailed studies of homosexuality, consult the previous nine volumes of the Jahrbuch für sexuelle Zwischenstufen by Dr. M. Hirschfeld, Leipzig, Verlag von Max Spohr 1899 to 1905, which contain a wealth of material on the whole question in around 5000 pages. Also the same: Sexualpsychologie, Marcus & Weber, Bozen 1918. The Harden-Moltke case illustrated the wretchedness of the way in which our law treats homosexuality drastically enough for the world to see.

"Sexual Pathologie" (p. 298)

In his Geschlechtsübergänge (1st c.) Hirschfeld gives some excellent pictures of female urns, among others by the painter Rosa Bonheur.

The Intermediate Sex (1908)

The Intermediate Sex (1908) by Edward Carpenter cites Magnus Hirschfeld.

Some late statistical inquiries (see "Statistische Untersuchungen" von Dr. M. Hirschfeld, Leipzig, 1904) yield 1.5 to 2.0 per cent as a probable ratio. See also appendix, pp. 134-136.
