The Washington Star on Friday says: Lincoln Hall was crowded last night by a fashionable and enthusiastic audience to witness the initial performance in this city of the Cushman-Leon Minstrels. No company ever drew a larger house in Washington, and no minstrel organization was ever more perfect or received with greater applause. Every feature of the performance was brimful of humor, and every artist was most excellent. The entire programme teemed with freshness and refined minstrel wit. Frank Cushman, Leon, Lew Spencer, and in fact, the general outfit came in for unqualified applause.
