A Girl-Boy.--The New Haven Register mentions the arrest of a girl of 17 years of age, dressed in boy's clothing, who was found at Milford, Ct., on her way to New York, to ship as a sailor. She was on foot, and had but 25 cents in her pocket, and is supposed to have run away from her friends in a foolish freak, or under criminal enticement.

Another account (and this seems the most probable) states that she had filled her head with the glowing illusory pictures of sea life to be found in a certain class of pamphlet publications. Oh, what foolish visions, what corrupt principles, these pestilent novels infuse into the minds of youth!
