As a specimen of the progress of N. York toward the Parisian style of doing things, we notice the fact that the police of that city a few nights since broke up a "Drag" ball there. The peculiarity of this kind of entertainment is that it is attended by a number of depraved men, who have dressed themselves in ladies' clothes. Those who were present on the occasion mentioned were attired in gorgeous style. They wore the most costly silks and satins, and had their voluminous curls and other feminine adornments. Some of them were covered with jewelry. One man had on at least $6,000 worth of diamonds. Five females and seven males were arrested and held to bail.
