2019

  • In June of 2019, the Renton LGBTQIA+ Community held its first meeting. It would pass its first bylaws in October.

2020

  • In June of 2020, the Renton LGBTQIA+ Community held a "Pride Around the Loop" where several LGBTQ+ residents drove around "the loop" before the city would convert it to two-way traffic.

2021

  • In June of 2021, the Renton LGBTQIA+ Community held its first "Pride Passport" as a way to continue holding Pride events during the pandemic.
  • In November of 2021, Carmen Rivera was elected as the city's first openly-queer city councilmember after a tough campaign against Ben Johnson who refused to apologize for years of derogatory comments, including about LGBTQ people, made on former councilmember Randy Corman's blog.

2022

  • In June of 2022, the Renton LGBTQIA+ Community held its second "Pride Passport" event.
